I have just a hair over 17,000 miles on the Blue Streak and it has just developed a new, and quite disconcerting, sound. While riding I get a fairly loud zipping sound from the left side. It sounds like a loud metallic zip tie being closed. It only lasts for a second or two and recurs every few minutes. It may be from the clutch but doesn’t last long enough to track it down. Has anyone else had this happen?
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

You're right. Weird. Nothing like that on mine, sorry.

Did you have your valves adjusted at 12,000 miles. Just a thought, good luck with a solution...

Neither should happen at only 17K, but your description sounds like it could be the starter overrunning clutch or maybe the shoe on the cam chain tensioner. If your local dealer has a wrench who really knows his stuff, it might be a good idea to go talk to them.
