After reading this thread I checked the net and found there is a guy here in Des Moines that carries both Urals and Royal Enfields. I stopped by this afternoon and checked them out. He told me that the Urals are bolt for bolt reproductions of the old BMW's. Apparently parts are even interchangeable (shades of the B-29ski.) On the sidecar models there is a second drive shaft that turns it into an ATV. He had an old actual Soviet military model that looked like it had a lot of use and still runs. If you need an ATV that could be used on the highway and do 60-70 MPH that might be the way to go. He said that there is a 750CC twin Royal Enfield due out in a year or so. He also had a couple of old Moto Guzzis there.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
