I DID NOT REMOVE THE LOOP WHEN IT BROKE, i used the tiewrap method and wrapped it around the loop and snuged it down to the loop, keeping the loop in its original shape. i hope you get that??? i just used an awl and pocked a hole thru the fat part of the holder before it go's thru the fender. it lastd for a couple yrs and then Santa brought me that pretty chrome one from Brents... er...ah... i mean Santa's workshop
