Just finished putting a zip tie in place of the rubber ring. Thanks for the tip, very useful. Although it will be a temporary fix because I ordered the chrome speedo cable holder that Brent sells. I like its look and can probably get away with just one more small item. By the time I noticed that my speedo cable loop broke I had two burn throughs on the cable cover. I thought that they were like that from the factory because they are two real even oval shaped holes. They looked so even it seemed like factory but now that I read this thread I guess I see where it could have touched the headers. With only two small burns in the cable cover could this present a problem to the speedo cable as a result of being exposed like water or something else affecting the cable?
