Even though our header pipes have heat shields they will turn blue/gold fairly quickly.
Mine started with about 200 miles on the clock.
Used blue away to clean up the pipes after installing the AI removal kit from NewSpeedmaster.com
There are other products that will clean them up as well.
Check the Tech Vault for the air mixture screw adjustment procedure as well. This will cure the dreaded "lean mixture" problem that our bikes have from the factory.
