Now you are right about the defensive thing, but I have seen accidents where there was absolutely no defense against the moron that caused it. And one was a bike being rear ended. He was at a stop light when the dumbass in the car moved over two lanes and hit him in the A end. Good thing he was wearing leathers, but still got up pretty slow.
If we could get those guys in Carson City to let us split lanes it would eliminate a lot of the danger of rear-enders.
