i think it should be the responsibility of the person hosting the ride or rally to have the instruments we require at the ready.

Yessssss
And Shari...congrats on the Larrivee!
Benny said it was a LV-90E, but can I assume it was a LV-09E?
I have a Larrivee D-60. Rosewood pre-war dred. It's always been my workhorse guitar. I've beat that thing to all hell and back for 3 years, and have a much better sounding rosewood pre-war dred, but always use my Larrivee to play out with.

yup, i think i went dyslexic while i was typing to benny. LV-09E it is, and man it is something else. I had just gotten the martin to a sound where i was extremely happy and now the Larrivee comes and spins my world inside out.
that's been happening a lot lately...go figure.
see ya in a few weeks... mert

What about a drum kit? I don't do many public appearences anymore, I'd better get out the practice pad! When I mount my new Saddlemen bags, I should be able to fit in a pair of sticks. Actually, all I'll need is a couple of 5 gallon pails, some #10 tin cans, a kick pedal, and a cardboard box. Also, assorted percussion tools: tamborine, cowbell, claves, bongos or congas, maracas, and other things so all can join in.
I'd really dig a campfire jam session.

You could probably mount a snare and tom to the easy brackets...

Mark, when I toured with Johhny Winter, the guitar tech had a Mattel Synsonics 4 head drum thingey, that I got pretty good at playing on for our latenite, tour bus, hotel parking lot, jam sessions.

Did you see any guitars next to it? It's nasty. So overkill, and I love it. Hardly get to use it anymore tho. I brought it up to my bands recording session, and the guitar player, who brought a fender amp with him, used mine the whole time
Charlie, a small set of bongos could easily get strapped to the back of the bike...

I always loved the sound of harp thru an old Fender Princeton...low wattage w/ a 10' speaker...mmmmm
Those amps I was telling you that my guitar shop designed...we have a model called the Big Dog w/ four 8" speaks...the best harp amp I've ever heard.

Rob, maybe a sheet of plywood or something Just some folding chairs will do... Mark, my amp is a classic 50, basically a 4x10. BIG sound, and I can get it sounding like a pretty good old school blues harp sound.

Hey Benny,
Man, do you, Mark, Mert, and I have alot to talk about, music wise. How are we gonna find the time, with all the jam'n, ride'n, and grill'n?
Aw geez, now I might have to rent a Ryder, or U-Haul cube van, so I can bring my bike, and drum kit(70's vintage Slingerland, natural wood finish, w/Zildjians).
I'm really looking forward to this!
Now, I've got to start practicing.
