For years the Stag was one of my favorite cars. Especially in Triumph Yellow. WOW. Get a good one and they are dream cars, get a bad one and holy %&$#@
My last car before leaving for the US was a Bright Metalic Green TR7 Convertible. Loved that car. It was the reason for meeting my wife, and the car is in our wedding pictures. White Ribbon the whole bit. If i could ever find it i would buy it and have it shipped over here. Reg no was KAV 53?W...its not your mums is it.
No my mums is red. Typical red car driver too... but then her Honda is red also.
The Stag....the plate says LD301. It was the 301st one built. It has a couple of eccentricities...the whole interior being one. It came with a Ford V6 under the bonnet, which sounded really nice - but then I was about 9 at the time, and that engine was older than the car! They put a Rover V8 in for a while till they could source a Triumph V8, that it know has. And that's blue. The car not the engine!
And Mike Sr the 7 engine and those of a similar size are not half a Stag engine....the V8 was two four cylinder engines (like the 7) jammed (for jammed read bodged)together....that's why Stags kept blowing up!!! It's only after the event that people realised what was wrong, and modified. But they still need antifreeze all year...
