I sometimes find myself riding in Washington, DC, the land of flaming retarded drivers. When I began outfitting my America, I knew that I didn't want to die or be crippled under the wheels or, more likely, across the hood of some idiot's SUV so I spent my money safety-first. Therefore I bought and installed:
1. Kriss headlight modulator
2. Triumph driving lights with HID bulbs
3. LED indicator bulbs all-around
3. Kriss brakelight flasher
4. Stebel Nautilus airhorn
I consider loud pipes, but I really enjoy a quiet ride. I’m also thinking about making my turn indicators running lights.
Anyway, once I felt a little better about the odds of not getting killed by any idiot other than myself, I’m now spending my money to make my bike faster. Therefore I bought and will be installing:
1. The FREAK kit (with water repellent pre-filters)
2. 130 mains, 45 pilots, and a few shims and TBS needles for fun
3. AI removal kit
4. 18T front sprocket
If I would get loud pipes, I’d probably get the Sceptre pipes. And then I’d probably change up my mains and pilots as well.
Of course, when you’ve come this far, you also commit to a few other things. Therefore I also bought:
1. The Haynes manual
2. The “D†carb tool
3. A CarbTune II carb balancer
As for creature comforts, I bought the Triumph Roadster screen for me and the Triumph sissybar (with the rack) for all my ladyfriends. I haven’t made my mind up about saddle bags; I can’t find any that I truly like and are worth all of the many dollars they cost.
As for things to make my bike last only as long as I do, I installed an oil temp gauge, run Mobile 1 synthetic oil, K&N oil filters, and a magnetic drain plug (delusional paranoia, yes, and I’m taking medication for it, too).
I ride a green 05 America and I pick up a lot of chicks. Even big ones.
