The time has come for all you guys to taste my pain!! Saturday June 3rd the guys from CT are going to take the ferry over here to Port Jeff, Mark is riding out from the city, and then we're gonna head east. The route is to be determined, as is the feed, but it should be fun. Optimally I'd like to ride a little bit, then maybe get our grill on at my place, then ride for the afternoon. We'll see. I may also see if some of my local riding buddies want to come, so we may max out my apartment's capacity.

Route ideas...
Take the long way home to me from the ferry including some of my favorite daily back roads. Then zig zag the island heading east. We could end in Orient, Or take the north shore (Sound Ave) back to Port Jeff, which is a nice ride in itself. Plus, I would have to ride back anyway. We could in theory do Montauk, but it would take most of the day, and there will be a lot of traffic... Not really worth it IMO.
So let me know what you think!

**Edit!! Date changed to June 24th, saturday!

So get this.. Check my e-mail at noon today and find out my uncle is going to be in VT that same weekend. It's not crucial I go, but if there is another weekend that works just as well and we can switch it without screwing anyone, that would be kinda cool. Thoughts?

Edit: Next weekend looks glorious so far...

Anyway, I can make it another weekend.

I can't wait to show you guys my favorite hazerdous intersections

Lets see if anyone else throws out a date. Like I said, I can still do that weekend.... but I could also go see the fam. the long term forecast for next weekend, may 27/28 looks good, so it would just bump it up a week. Or we can re-think it. Whatever

After we hear from Shari & Mark, lets stick to a date. Next weekend is fine for me. Or most any weekend in June.

I've got a wedding in PA on the 27th, so I'll be out of town all Memorial Day weekend. Then on June 9-11, my Dad and I are planning on riding up to the Otis Resevoir in MA to visit a friend of ours. So for me, June 24-25 look good for me since I have to spend time with the GF once in a while too.

Don't forget, I can still do the 3rd, not a huge deal, just checking my options.

"It all depends on the F'in Railroad; but my time is open. I'd rather not do Memorial Day weekend though--just because the Ferry is bound to be mayhemish.

What about the weekend of 6/10 or 11 Saturday or Sunday, depending on the F'in Railroad is fine.

why don't we do June 24 or 25.This way Benny can see his uncle . I see no need to do the traffic jam to Montauk. We can just groove around Benny's stomping grounds. Ya dig?

Good for me, like Matt said, I'll let some other chime in to hopefully make it then we'll bank on it. Speaking of stoping grounds, got about 20 miles in last night! Finding some good roads. We may make some interesting figure 8 and criss cross etc, but we'll stay off the main drag for the most part.

So June 24th it is then. Gives me more time to scope out routes/gas stops/vittles, etc.

Mark, if you want, you can meet me at the same place we had planned on for before and we can head to PJ together.

Also, any nice night in PJ is usually FULL of bikes, so maybe we can end their too and check out the bikes while you guys wait for the boat.

It's looking like I'm not gonna make this one, I work
Saturdays till 1 or 2. I wouldn't be able to get across the
pond until 4, or so. This is disappointing, but I've
already told my boss about taking time off for the NH run.
That's New Hampshire, not New Haven.

After the ride ends I may go visit my sister in Stony Brook. Gotta fix her computer so might as well kill 2 byrds with 1 stone.

Well then I may just plan the ride to end back in PJ then. Stony brook is like a 5 minute ride from there so it should be perfect!

Well Matt it's not cause you're special
I was thinking of ending in PJ anyway cause most likely there will be a ton of bikes in the FERRY parking lot allong the edge. Works out well Some itme to chill before the boat. That as opposed to ending in Orient to take that ferry back...
Shari, is Schmike coming? Will he be there to escort you? Or find out when Matt is going back the next day and stay over at my place and meet him to go back.
Mark, yeah she is. Ok not affraid but I have a feeling sea sick is the word. Good thing the PJ Ferry is nice n smooth.

As it turns out, this weekend is my anual camping/fishing trip with my buddy and his son in RI. I won't be able to make it. I am, however, looking forward to the NH run.

I'll be there.

Dern right we will! Get an early start and ride around if you have to. With no traffic, it's actually about the same amount of time.
