In my curiosity I took out the air-adjustment screw just to chech that darn little thin. There is a little O-ring "on top", whitch seems to just hang there. Is this ring suppose to be pulled down so it stuck, or shall it just keep on hanging there??? By the way - do anyone know where to get a new "pakning" for the brake-oil dispenser on the bar (dont know the english word for that rubber thing thats under the cover that keeps it from leeking etc.)

The little o-ring will fall out and roll away, but only when you're not looking. I always put a rag under the carbs when I remove those screws.

Yes, the o-ring and washer sit precariously on top of the screw as you insert it up into the carburetor, but as you turn the screw in, the spring will compress, and the barrel of the mixture screw will slide up into the hole of the washer and o-ring. Sometimes, when you take the screws out, the o-ring will hang up inside the screw hole. As Grump said, the o-ring will fall out and roll out of sight as soon as you look away. Murphy's Law in action. Don't lose it or you will have a problem. Here's a pic of the parts, and also the knurled finger screw that some are using to replace the stock screw. I've gone back to the stock screw because the knurled screw seems to have different (worse) flow adjustment characteristics. Regards, Cody

Spring goes on first, then washer, then O-ring.
Or, O-ring is closest to tip

and if you lose the little bugger good luck finding a place to buy one. I went to every auto parts place and every place else I could think of. finally I went to the honda/kawa/suz/yama dealer near by and they came up with a number to order. I even tried the harley shop ( they use kehien on their bike s also. and they could not find a carb with a mixture screw in the computer. anyway honda part # 16075-KG8-901 is a honda mixture screw o-ring. it is like $2 and change for 1 and can be ordered as 1 or more. I got 4 just because.

Nice research Pete. The triumph stealer said ya have to buy the whole set (needle, spring, washer and o-ring). The 'set', each side, was 35 bucks several years ago.
Why did I ask? Well one of those little o-rings played hide-n-seek with me and I asked out of curiosity.

I managed to lose both of them when I had the carbs off to paint. And yes , Triumph sells only the high priced set.
