It turns out the stock pipes on my 05 TA have 4 baffles not 3.I removed 3 sets leaving the one right behind the reducer.I slid a 1" pipe over the 3/4" tube on that baffle and secured the end with a ground clamp inside the stock outer pipe.I experimented with different lenght inner pipes until I got the sound I wanted. It ends about 8" inches in from the end of the stock outer pipe. There is enough open pipe at the end to give it a low "big bike" sound at idle (after all it is a cruiser) but start giving it throttle and the parallel twin jumps out at you,the sound is all Triumph. the inner pipe delivers the sound out past the the 3" tuba where it used to get lost.I know alot of people would rather just pay the $600 for after market pipes, but I have acheived the exact sound I wanted and for less then $100.
thanks for letting me share
mike
BTW these pipes are LOUD

some times the light's all shining on me other times I can barely see

I'm interested in hearing what your exhaust mod sounds like. As you know, I have the Bub's, which are about 80 to 90% of the sound I'm looking for. Idle, and low r's is pretty good, but I find it a little harsh at WOT.

Sounds like you've reached your goal. I too, have removed all the plates, save the front pair with the tube intact and a 3/4" hole in the plates beside the tube. Sounds OK, but still not what I want. I am looking for the sound my old Dunstall mufflers used to produce - quiet, yet very deep throated. Maybe someday.

Ride Safe, Dennis Triumph, it's how I live and what I ride.
