Wishing I would have had this done in time for the Georgia rally, what a difference a little shaving of the foam makes. Took a standard America seat and cut down the foam some on the back part and shaved some off the sides. Once I got it to fit the way I wanted took it up to a guy named Tom in Milwaukee to have it recovered. The cover is black stingray hide and black bison hide. He did a great job on it and I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. I also bought a gel pad off of him. He makes these up in several different sizes. They have a rubber backing to them so they don't slide around and are covered with some of the nicest, thickest, plushest, I can't stop petting it sheepskin you have ever seen. If any of you are in the market for some seat work I'd give Tom a big thumbs up, a little bit slow perhaps? Oh well, things always seem to take longer when you're anxiously awaiting them. Check him out at www.backinthesaddleseats.com

Few more pics in my gallery....

I was going to reply that I liked that "snakeskin" paint job on your tank, then I realized it was a reflection of the lumber framing and the wall......!

Time for my medication.......

Oh, nice seat.

Steve,
Looks good- you'll have to give us a report with some miles on it. How about a trip down LSD?

edit- I said down LSD... not on LSD!

Hmmmm, even with the idea planted in my head I still don't see the snakeskin paintjob...lol Tell what is wierd though, a snakeskin paint job is planned on. I've been practicing on some scrap metal but still not happy with the results yet.
Taken it for a spin or two with the new seat and at least for me is a night and day difference to what it was, tried the sheepskin/gel pad today for a few miles too..... at first it seemed like I was sitting on a brick but after awhile it awhile it got all comfy like. I figure if I don't get used to the gel I can just take it out and still have a nice piece of sheep fur to sit on.

I was wondering what kind of mess that would a made Yota, had some of that sweet tart crazy juice busted open in there. Prolly would have had to of ditched the bags as that stuff would appear to melt plastic and eat paint....lol How 'bout them bags anyway, three six packs in one and two in the other, STILL had room for more, scary thought eh?

I saw on TV where a guy stretched a fishnet stocking over a tank to use as a stencil for a snakeskin paint job, it worked really well.

saw that fishnet thing somewhere too, was it that Nubby guy from Orange County? Been using the stretchy net bags like oranges come in but not got my technique down yet, looks like someone painted the outline of a fruit bag....lol

Brian.... the damage (drumroll) wasn't so bad. I bought the hides off Ebay, what CAN'T you buy on Ebay?, and got both skins for about 75 bucks. Tom got me for $175 to do the cover. The gel pad covered with da sheep was another 90. Guess altogether I'm close to the price of a Corbin but it's covered with stingray man! hehehe
