Been waiting awhile for this forum. We have pics of the custom when I figure out how to get them here. Just about ready for tear-down for paint, plating, polishing, upholstery, etc.

There is also a customs section in the photopost area you should submit to.

I noticed the stirrups on the Speedmaster...how did you do that...? Were those aftermarket footpegs just mounted on some custom fabbed part?
Any other photos of it? Like from the sides closeup?

We refer to those as "Heel Pegs". Custom fabricated mounting brackets with custom designed , fabricated, and polished pegs for the bike. They serve as an extra place for your heels, are independant of the foot pegs, and serve the same function as a floorboard. Quite comfortable in use. Being 3/16" aluminum they weigh almost nothing, and fold up when needed. We've got them on both bikes now. Thanks for noticing and your comments.

Boogieman,
Very nice pics. I love the look of the America already. Especially the air filters on it. I also love the chromed swing arm on the SM, are you planning on doing it to the America? It gives the rear end that much more to be noticed.
In another post you mentioned that you'd be replacing the speedo with a smaller one with tach and temp guage. Are they going to be digital or not? I'd be interested in finding out how you chose which tach your using since I've toyed with the idea of putting one on myself but don't like the position of the factory option.

Thanks for the comps WOJO. Haven't decided on the full tilt chromed look as yet. As to new gauges, I'm an analog type of guy. I like to see the hands (needles) move. Am currently looking at "AUTOMETER" or "STEWART WARNER" 2" auto type gauges. Will have to fabricate some mountings, but that I really enjoy. Should be nice to have twin gauge pods (similar to the RIII) (with oil pressure gauge between) to match my dual headlights. The factory tach on the SM is practacally useless so I plan to install my relocated ignition switch there, as we did on the America. I have seen handlebar mount tachs advertised. you might check one of those out.

Thanks Boogieman,
Off hand did you know the ratio we need. I can't seem to find that information anywhere. I've been wanting to do a dual speedo/tach above the bars for about a year. Fabbing up a mounting isn't a problem it's getting the information up to that point that has been trouble.

Don't hold me to it but I believe I read somewhere it is 2:1. Seems to also be the most common in use. That's where I'm starting from until I find out otherwise.

They were my son's idea. He's the chief designer on this project. I like the look too. Thanks

wojo -
lot of discussion on that ratio deal. do a search under 'greybeard'. i think it was him & a couple other guys (caseml?) that got the actual numbers that would work.

Thanks jeff2, was hoping for just such. The air horns are PVC, 1-1/2" ID, flow great, attach with a neoprene boot and standard hose clamps. The K&N's slip right on. Much more air flow than the air box as denoted by the rejetting require. Looking to make the ignition switch relocate as a plug-in harness with brackets and all. Should be going to paint, polish, upholstery this week. We're excited!

Hey Boogieman, I've got a couple of questions--on the red America, in the picture where you can see the left side of the bike...either the bike is lowered WAY down or the gentleman in the photo is REALLY tall (is that you?); or so it seems. How did you get it that low? Is the front end lowered also? I love that look, low and mean. Also what kind of pipes are those, they look great too; do they have a loud rumble to em? Nice stuff.......

The carbs finished out with 160 mains and 45 pilots. No other adjustments. The filters are from Brent, the same as on the "FREAK" I presume. This thing really hauls now. What a huge improvement. We like it! Thanks for the kind words.

Hey Tsalagi, thought that pic might elicit some comments. The 6'- 4" guy is my son GREG (roper) who is designing this bike. Almost everything done here are his ideas. And yes, the bike has been lowered 2-1/4" in the rear with our lowering blocks, and almost 2" in front using modified stock springs and internal stops. The pipes were on the bike when we got it. Best we can determine by the mounting brackets is a set of aftermarket units for a Harley, or generic applications. Probably came from JCW. They work quite well on this bike after the carb work. Kind of loud by my standards, but nice and deep, a rumbly sound. They really let the engine breathe. Although low, we haven't had any major ground clearance issues as of yet, and Greg likes to ride hard! Thanks for the good words.

Thanks for the good words. As to being finished, he's like Paul Jr. at OCC, in that he kept wanting to make changes and additions even as we were taking it apart today for parts finish/paint/upholstery/etc. We think the ignition relocation is one of the best changes. Should be a couple of weeks before parts go back on.

Boogieman, buddy I've GOTTA get my bike that low!! I've seen in other posts that you will be making some of your fabricated parts available for sale (please correct me if I'm wrong)...will these "lowering blocks, modified springs and internal stops" be availabe for purchase? Or could you give a detailed description of what is involved? Please do tell.......that thing looks awesome!! I now have that pic as my desktop background both at home and work (I showed it to a co worker today and he said, "That thing is <expletive> BADDDDDDDD!! No speedo either, huh?

Hey Boogieman
Just looked at your gallery & love the heel pegs - thinking about some thing like that myself. You stated that your son designed & made them. Do you have any plans to make & sell more?
