after I found some rust forming on some of my fasteners, i went to the local car parts place, and Krylon (I think it's crylon) has some silver primer that converts iron oxide (rust) to another kind of oxide, and stops the rust process. When it dries (i got a really small artists brush and manually painted it on), it seals up the rust area and looks good to boot.
