One of by biggest disappointments in my retirement is the lowered stamina and endurance, from lack of activity over the winter months. but once spring gets here I have lots to do and two people said I look like I lost weight. Already and its only May 1st.
Although muscle weighs 7 times more than fat.U can add weight and loose inches.
Today I had a visit with my cardiologist everything is good. I asked him how to get more stamina his reply "go back 20 years". Funny guy.
I do have a aneurysm on my artery, It's been under the care of Dr, Gupta a heart surgeon in Hartford, CT for the last five years. It has not gotten any bigger. And it is checked every year.
There was a time when I could ride 350+ miles in a day. No longer have that kind of stamina and endurance.
It would take a hole day to ride from Northwestern CT,to Montreal Canada. I would spend the night and return home the next day. There is no way I could do that now. After I build up more energy, stamina and endurance I will work my way up to 160 miles. It's a very nice ride.
Also I would ride up to my now deceased Brother, David's home in Northwood NH. He died at 62, way too young. Heart attach his arteries were 50% clogged.
It's 185 miles mostly on the highway. From Litchfield county get to 84 w, to 90 w to 395 n to 93 in NH
But there I would stay with him for a few days before heading to N. Conway NH.
Then to and through the white mountains and it;s winding roads then to I-91 S, Entrance 17 I think.
One time from entrance 17-S VT, to Brattlborough at 80 mph for over 100 miles, went past NH state troopers they did not even blink.
