How do you measure the secondary circuit resistance of an ignition coil using an ohm meter?

'06 America, Raask foot controls, the bike use to be Graphite and Silver, now its Red and Black.

Put the multi meter lead on the ground and the other on the spark plug connection. I would have to look up the resistance but it should read close to what ever the manufacturer states. Your coil can read OK but still be bad. Sometimes it will be ok until it gets hot then fail from an intermittent connection effected by heat.

Was just thinking about this and all I did was answer what you asked. Easiest way to see if a coil is bad is to swap the wires from one side to the other and if the problem moves to the other side with the swap then the coil is probably bad. Have to swap power and plug wires not just plug wire.
