A friend who lives in Port Charlotte Florida said they had very little rain from Helene. He was in Myrtle Beach at a golf tournement at the time, very little and his sister who lives in Chapel Hill N.C. also had relatively little rain. That system was very selective although it cut quite a wide swath.
Now Milton that ran right over top of them in Port Charlotte but when he moved back in 2019 he bought on the highest land in the area and hurricane proofed the house with new windows and straps, they faired well. Lots of others didnt as is evident from the news footage.
