Last week due to severe thunder storms and torrential rain, a bridge on CT Rt 272 was washed out. I very much enjoy the route. 32 miles in total its a short ride but in the evening its a beautiful ride. I don't know when the bridge will be rebuilt and the route open again. Some how I think it won't reopen till next spring. I've been slowly building up my stamina, length of ride in miles and time. Today I rode 140 miles and did it in 5 hours. I usually make 30 miles per hour during my rides. I stop frequently, have some food or a Red Bull. I wish I could go one of my favorite rides Rt 22 N, in NY to 43 E, in NY to Rt 7 N, in MA. to Rt 9E, in VT to Brattlebroro. I-91 S, to CT 20 W, 219 N, then to Rt 8 and home 250 miles takes me all day to complete the ride.

The NE has had so much rain this year I hope that it doesnt become the norm as it sure curtails the riding. (I am a sunny day rider only if caught out will you see me on the road in the rain)
