Barry Newman from my all time favorite movie Vanishing Point passed away at 92. I was living in Texas when that movie came out and it was so popular at the local theatre they held it over for several days. I was there 4 nights in a row. That and the Then Came Bronson TV show were the best things ever at the time but I am pretty sure Micheal Parks died years ago. All my old heroes are dying off..must be getting old.

Is that the Vanishing Point with the white Challenger. If so I saw that in a double feature with Lucky Lady. Both good movies.

I had a plain jane one, 318 black vinyl top and it was even white with black interior. I had a few others I never should have sold. 66 Impala ss convertible 427 4spd red with black top and interior, 70 AMX 390 4spd kind of a bronze color white vinyl racing stripe, 71 LeMans Sport 400 auto blue/blue. Still have the LeMans but it's shot. Had a 78 Scout I loved too 345 4spd.

I always liked the AMX Javelins. Cool cars A freind of my uncles had one that I got to ride in once 390 4 speed. It was pretty fast. My brother in law had a plain Jane Javelin for awhile, small block with a 3 speed. It rode like a buck board but wss loads of fun to drive.
Yep, always had a thing for the Challengers, Super Bees, Road Runners and Cudas. Mostly Chevelles, Camaros and tri five Chevys around here back on n the day. I had 57 Chevy 2dr hdtp for awhile.

I used to live 3 houses away from Jack Williams. I don't know if you have Jack Williams Tire there, it's a pretty big chain but it's that Jack Williams. I used to play with his kids when I was a kid. Anyway, he had a purple late 60s Road Runner, not sure exactly what year it was but cool car.

Actually, now that I think about it one of my friends had a late 60s Road Runner too red with sideways black hood scoops. That was a 383 4spd car. Was pretty darn fast for such a big car.

A buddy of mine also had a Javelin 390 4 speed. She was quick, and pretty rare.

My AMX was extremely rare, it was a limited edition with a number on the dash. It would pull the front wheels off the ground. Not sure if they all were or not but mine was also a 2 seater, no back seat and quite a bit shorter than a javalin.

Back in the day, a friend in high school had a shockingly fast, built 290 Javelin (1st Gen). His Dad owned a body shop, & the finish was near perfect. I loved that car!

Watched the trailer for Vanishing Point. American Iron must have supplied a few of those to film sites, that boy had fun in that Challenger. In 75 my Texas drug dealer girlfriend had one we used to fly up the Ottawa valley to visit friends at crazy speeds. As the Newfie comedian Buddy Wasisname said "Youse cant tickets what youse cant catch" PS if you want to hear something funny look up Buddy Wasisname and the other Fellers " the Vette" . It may be a Canadian thing but I could start a line from that routine and think of half a dozen guys that could finish it then go on from there. https://buddywasisname.com/the-vette The words but youse needs to hear him do the routine. Its on Spotify if youse gots dat.
