The odd thing about it all is they were having a band out to play for somebody's birthday at the big horse barn accross the road. Its something they do a couple of times a year but that Saturday before his service on Monday and I was working outside around the house. Since it was a rock and roll band this time I got my guitar out and was Sitting on the porch playing along with them and they did Simple Man by Skynard and the guy singing dedicated it to Eddie Allen. I almost fell out.. so me being me, I jumped in my truck and went over to crash the party and to see who these guys were. Turns out I didn't know any of the but most of the guys in the band knew or had met Eddie so I hung out with them on their break and traded a few old band stories. I met a couple of them again at his service.
