Well here we are again. We have survived to ride another year. It will be good to see my old friends again and this year we welcome some first timers to our clan. I havent actually made a schedule for a few years and this year will be no different. Well maybe a bit different as plans may have to be more even more fluid. I had prostate surgery and was almost fully recovered then came covid. I am in my 5th week Of covid now and feel good for the most part, sometimes not so much. Doc says its okay to be around people though so I am "cootie" free but symptoms come and go so I never know what the day will bring. My plans for Thursday is to leave home base by 9 and take hwy 60 to Wolf Pen gap then 19 over to Richard Russell. We will connect with 75 to the backside of Helen. Depending on time we might eat in Helen. We will eat at the Mex place that night. Friday, lets do the run through Cleveland and Clarksville up to Hiawassee then back down 19 to home. Friday night is pizza night! So delivery pizza is in order. Saturday I'm seriously considering the Fort Mountain, it has been awhile since I have been up that way. We will figure out food on the way. Moe mentioned his homemade speghetti and meatballs and maybe we can talk him into making us another key lime pie. Is anybody else getting hungry? Figuring all rides leave home base around 9. I am really looking forward to this year.. It wil be good to see you guys.

I'm leaving Wed after work. Plan to ride to Clemson and stay over with my daughter. Leave around 6am Thursday and that should put me there in time to ride with y'all. If not I'll see you Thursday evening.
PS: I'm bringing those Triumph saddlebags Chy.

Back home in Knoxvegas. 1179 miles on my run. Left Suches this morning at 7:00am sharp, two miles up the road fog was very thick and continued almost to Morganton. This required a 30 mph crawl. oh well, I pushed through after putting on a third layer. yeah I was cold. Guys I had a wonderful time. Weather for the rally was awesome. Did I mention I like September. Great to see my Triumph family again. Chy and Di always such gracious host. Jim good to see ya man, great spaghetti brother. Wade , the cool cat. Just a fun dude to talk with. Gordon, it had been a bit. Great to see you, sorry you had to cut out early. Met Patrick for the first time, good conversations and fun riding with you. Bob and Amy, another fun couple I had not seen since Arizona in 2011. I'll give it a two thumbs up rating

Well another rally in the books. We had some great rides, beautiful weather, good food and good company. Chef Moe with the help of Di & Angie, kept us all delightfully well fed and Bob and Amy Lee finally made it down to our beloved North Georgia mountains. First timers they were so we regaled them with the stories of members and rallies passed and they were a perfect fit for our eclectric band. It was good to see Patrick back again this year as well.. Loooooove those Caspian blue Americas. The usual supects were there, my adopted brothers Moe and Mike and my adopted son Gordon, Patrick, the newest member of our clan after his 2nd year. Wade stopped by to hang and ride with us for awhile too. We spoke of our other extended family who couldn't make it this year and those who can make it no more. We drank and laughed and felt the wind and sun on our faces then said our sad goodbyes when it was over too soon. Through the 18 years of Ga rallies and all the funny, interesting and amazing people we have met along the way, the core remains. And be it 4 or 40 who show up to celebrate life with us we will continue on for as long as we are able to do so. A heartfelt thank you to all of you who take time out of your lives and away from your families to join us each year.
A shout out to Fast eddie , hoping you are on the mend old friend and remember, there is always next year...
I will post a couple of pics of our motley crew in the gallery.

After 1199.6 miles the 2022 rally is in the books and I have to say it was a great one. So good to see the folks I met last year and the new ones from this year mixed with some of the best riding in the country. You can't go wrong!!!

All I can say is "It was awesome!" Enjoyed seeing Chy, Moe and Mike again and meeting Patrick, Gordon and Wade. Loved the curves and mountains of north GA too. Bob and I plan on making it again next year. Thank you Chy for hosting, and to Di and Angie, for making our time there great. Moe the spaghetti and meatballs and key lime pie were to die for ( I want the recipes, please).

I hate that I had to leave on Saturday and miss the ride... and Moe's spaghetti! It was great to see a lot of old friends and meet some new ones. Thank you Chy for my "tech day" and of course to you, Di, Angie and Boo for your hospitality.. see you next year... if not sooner!
