Eunice was the second storm we had had in 3 days.
We had a third a couple of days later too.
Three named storms in a week but Eunice was by far the worst and the first for many years where it was graded 'red'. Threat to life, severe damage to infrastructure etc.
I believe we have another due son too (Franklin has also been through, Gladys is next).
It makes news over here because, in the great scheme of things, we never really get severe weather like that very often but that was a big one.
Mid-storm I was talking to a friend on the phone who was actually getting his camping gear ready to RIDE to a weekend rally with others. I questioned his sanity, called him several expletives and suggested IF he actually gets there in one piece, he'd more than likely be the only person there !
He decided to stay home.
Camping. 65-75 mph winds. I give up sometimes.
