I agree, the S&W is made in China. My last Buck the sheath was made in Mexico but the auto I just bought it's made in USA even has a flag stamped above the made in USA. I can tell you you won't be disappointed it is as smooth as can be and nice and tight. Most autos are a little loose to function properly but not this one. I sound like a damned Buck ad but it's all true. I have quite a few knives myself and I didn't need the one I have since my other Buck 110 auto conversion is almost as nice but I can't pass up a really nice knife either or a gun that the price is right on either for that matter. I have to say so far the latch to release the blade is one of the nicest I have had and I have quite a few. It closes securely and is easily opened and very smooth.
