I tried to "get out of Dodge" for the holidays but the wife's work schedule wouldn't allow it. Never been a fan of xmas, mostly because of the commercial aspects of it. What other holiday do we celebrate for six weeks?! Having said all of that, I actually DID have a good holiday. Most of my kids showed up for chili dinner (minus the one that is in jail again and the other girl who has been "wherabouts unknown". for two years.) But my estranged oldest son and I patched up our relationship after his mom passed away two years ago and we now get along fine and he is holding a formans job and doing great. For the first time in decades I am proud of him. Heck, he even gifted me a really nice, low miles older cargo van to help me with my work after spending a couple of weeks sprucing it up! Then on xmas day we went to my mother in laws and had a good meal. My wife's mother and siblings are great people and they remind me of my own good family. Anyway, I hope my friends on here have a nice holiday season and a safe one also!
