Though we all thought at the time that he wasn't cool in Easy Rider. Looked and behaved like a middle manager on his annual holiday. Now Billy, he was the icon we all aspired to be.
I took the Road Less Travelled.
Now where the ****** am I?

Actually, Peter Fonda wasn't a great actor. He was in two decent B movies, Easy Rider and Ullie's gold.
Easy Rider was significant in that it was an cheaply made independent film directed by Dennis Hopper that made a sh-t load of money. Also, that it launched Jack Nicholson's career. The story played on every stereo type, but visually was good, the sound track was great (my fav).
All that said, Peter Fonda who was the son of a Hollywood god had a very privileged youth, but had serious problems, He seemed over the years to turn out all right, God bless him and RIP.

He wasn't very good but that movie is iconic anyway. Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicolson were both good in it. Billy had the cooler bike IMO too. Fonda also played Lucifer in Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage.

Don't forget, he had a part in that cinematic masterpiece "Wild Hogs."
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

That's where he said "lose the watches".

The Captain America bike was in a garage at the old Dodge hacienda in Taos years ago. The place was rented from Dennis Hooper by a group of silver smiths I used to do business with. Just sitting on it felt pretty cool.

There's seems to be a few " Captain America" bikes floating around. If you're net familiar with the story read about Dan Haggerty's ( grizzly Adams) connection/drama surrounding the original bike, or last surviving bike from the film.

Well if you believe you bought an original and the rest of the world believes you bought an original then it kind of passes the smell test original or not. People been faking pieces of art for centuries and with good enough provenance its real. Grissly Adams stamp of approval is good provenance. At $1.35 million...how many would you like?

Well ole Grizz has stated " more than one bike" is the original so I'm not sure where you're going with that logic. Chances are good the the bike you sat on was most likely a fake.

But I believed it was real and the silversmiths renting from Hopper thought it was real so taking it on faith it was a $1.35 million bike. Glad I didn't scratch it with car keys hanging from my belt like Snider might have.
