Yeah, helmet matters a lot. I have a Shoei Multitec and a cheaper HJC IS-Max II. The HJC is noticeably louder. I’ve been riding, like Saxtron, over 50 years; everything he said I agree with and or experienced. And my hearing aids don’t get me back to where I was. +1 on ear plugs!
