And what was the North run by? A totalitarian dictatorship that could have lived in peace with it's southern neighbor but chose instead to foment rebellion in the South and, in the end, invade and conquer the South. The government in the South may have been corrupt but so was the North.
So it's ok if "Our" dictators are killing raping disappearing folks etc. But it sort of goes against the fable of"You're fighting for your country Son" "You're fighting to save the free world." The truth is "you're fighting for big business Son and the almighty dollar." I TOTALLY support WW2 and the war against Hitler and the Japs that NEEDED to be fought, but most if not all, since have been for business.The military,industrial complex.
