I finally got my spoke rims on 4 years later. I acquired a complete 17" 2002 Tiger rear rim, a Thunderbird Sport front hub(thanks again Ryk), a 2002 19" Tiger front hoop, and spokes from Buchanan's in the spring of 2015. I had just put new tires on my 03 Speedy the week before I left for Sturgis in 2014 so I still had good rubber and wasn't in a hurry to shell out money for new tires unnecessarily. I figured that I would just swap the rims out once I was due for new tires. Then in October of 2016 an idiot turned left in front of me resulting in my 03 being totaled out. When I bought the 2006 Speedy in early 2017 it had good tires on it so once again I put off the rim swap. Two years later the 06 was due for new rubber so I finally got them on! I went with Dunlop American Elite tires in 160/70/17 and 100/90/19. The rear was an easy direct swap. The front tire ended up being a little taller than I anticipated resulting in the front fender rubbing slightly so I made two brackets out of A2 gauge steel to raise the front fender up approximately 5/8 of an inch. As a result of raising the front fender the crossover brake line for the right side caliper was short by about two inches. I had the idea to pull the rear brake line hose from my totaled 03 Speedy and in an instance of unprecedented luck it was 2 inches longer than the stock cross over line and a perfect fit.

They sure do. Plus I was never a fan of the giant sidewalls on the 170/80/15 rear wheels.

Thank you! I’ve got an a 07 & up style sprocket cover and rear foot peg hangers to put on, armor coat the headers near chrome to match the pipes, and put a brushed finish on all the polished pieces and it should be just about where I want it.
