Great news BA members, Fishercat (Ron) and I have decided to organize a BA NH ride. I have one guest room (dbl bed) and several couches, other than that I have plenty of room to accommodate those who wish to camp, Ron may also be able to host some overnight guests, and a list of local hotels will follow. The ride will leave my house at approximately 10:00 am on Saturday, we will head north via Rt. 107 and twist our way toward Lake Winnipesaukee, pick up Rt 11 and head toward Alton, then hop onto Rt 28 and stop at “America’s oldest summer resort†Wolfeboro , poke around some of the shops, and grab some chow. Leaving Wolfeboro Via 109 we will continue north, grab 25 west to Meredith, switch to Rt 3 south and proceed to Rt 106 past NH International Speedway, then we will continue to wind our way back to my house for a BBQ. (These roads can be checked out at www.motorcycleroads.us/nh.html) this is a approximately 150 ( very rough estimate)miles round trip My house will be available from Friday Am till Sunday Pm for those wishing to arrive/depart on a non-ride day. Please let us know so we can figure on grills and such… The Tentative date is set for July 22nd...please contact either of us so we can get a good handle on the logistics. I will post a map of the intended trip soon, and a list of local hotels

So far so good on the dates. I think the weekend prior to that I'll be in NH also to visit my uncle. Kinda good because it would be hard to do both at once!

Kancamagus is a great ride, as are the knotches...but they require a ton a slab riding just to get to the good parts and the tourist (IE CAGE) traffic is brutal...we figured this would be more twisties with some really nice views and the lake...and heII there's always next year!

The Kanc would be sweet, but it's kinda like the same reason we didn't ride the Dragon when we went to GA. PLENTY of good riding where we were, and there wasn't thousands of Mini Coopers on the road

I see no point in riding the Kanc either. There are some amazing two lanes here in NH that very few people ride. This route should be interesting, a little bit of everything, even some traffic jams through meridith to keep you New Yorkers feeling at home.

No you should be fine....and there's plenty more not listed...the Days Inn in Hudson is a good bet as they are far enough away from the airport to not really catch the trafic from there...but you should be fine!

Sounds good? SOUNDS GREAT!!! I'm glad you guys are starting to plan this so far in advance. Tomorrow, I'll tell boss I'm taking that weekend off. Already, I'm thinking of working till noon on Friday, then head North, so I can get up there well before dark, and traffic (LSOHHB, figure that one out Mert, it's easy).
Hey Mert, have you figured out how many miles it is from NH to NH yet?

there are an extraordinary number of hotels etc in NH, tourism is how we survive. The only time that an area gets booked is around Loudon for the nascar race, which is the weekend before. Relax there are plenty of options.

I'm thinking of strapping a tent, air mattress, and sleeping bag to my bike, and making this my first bike camping trip. Or, I'll just getta room.
Hummmm, I'll need bigger bags, if I'm gonna camp. Better get right on this!
