I have 18k miles on my Speedy in less than 2 years, and a lot of that has been spent in the saddle from one gas pump to the next, none stop. I hear all of the talk about the Corbins and what-not, but I can't complain about my Gunfighter. I think about it often after being in the saddle for a long stretch, and I just have to smile. I really like it.
I don't have floorboards or a windscreen, or a luggage rack, yet. I would do a solo seat with fender rack, but don't know if the seat would be as comfortable as I find the GF. I like the idea of the touring seat, with a sissy bar & rack, but still don't know that I would ever have anybody on back, so why spend the $$$ on the seat?
I currently have been just strapping my Red Oxx Safari Beanos bag onto the top of my W&M saddlebags, in a waterproof bag if needed. It fits nicely across the top of the seat - I just hope I don't have paint issues between the back of the seat and the number plate - have only done this a couple of times and can't really see a problem (don't want to).
RED OXX But the seat, I like. Could stretch my legs a bit sometimes - like maybe some highway pegs on some crash bars might afford, but for just me, the GF is a keeper for now.
I really can't say how much it "broke in", as the first few months I had the bike I put 1000 miles/month on it and never gave it much thought. I've heard good and bad about the Corbins - some say too hard after should be broke in and others say it is sweet from the start. Sounds like an expensive experiment to me.
I do find that I'm more comfortable back "in" the seat, whether I have my feet on the front or rear pegs, so I reposition often, maybe sitting up on the "high" part a while, but as soon as I brake or decellerate, my butt slides forward a bit which is okay if I need to be ready to brake more or downshift.
