I think he was one of a very few in hollywierd land . For all appearances it seemed that what you saw is what you got . By that I mean he seemed real . When you would see him on shows like Carson tonight show , he never came off as being phoney . Just funny . Like the kind of guy you could have some real fun with. RIP Burt , thanks for the entertainment !!! What was the first show/ movie you remember seeing him work on ?

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Newt and PES opinions seem to be correct. Mark Levin interviewed actor Jon Voight on "Life, Liberty & Levin". In one segment they talked about Burt Reynolds and how Voight and Reynolds became life long friend while making "Deliverance".
Voight told a story about Reynolds on the set of "Deliverance". Like most sets there are director chairs with the actors names silk screened on the backs. Well every day between shooting Reynolds would sit in Voight's chair. At first it didn't bother Voight, but after days and days of this happening Voight began to think Burt was playing some kind of macho mind game on him. Voight couldn't take it any longer so he confronted Burt asking him why had he been using Voight's chair. Reynolds smiled and said, "Because I can see the back of the chair with my name on it from here".

Good story. They did a week long tribute to Burt on Gunsmoke on Me Tv. Quint Asper, the Comanche half breed.
