I have been playing with the idea of fitting the Hi Flow silencers from triumph HJPA9608140AMERICA2011MY 2011 efi one shop have told me they are street legal and another they are marked off road could anyone who has fitted these please look to see if they are marked off road as I cannot see any markings in picture.
If they are Triumph accessory / aftermarket, I have not looked up that part number, I think you will be pleased, with look, sound, perfomance, and probably shedding 2 pounds.
Also, I think those need an ECU tune, available from Triumph dealers.
The markings are stamped so that they are not too conspicuous.
The guys at the shops probably have to tell you that from a legality point. this is so you can't blame them if you ever get checked.
I put the Speedmaster slash cuts on my America, improved the look and sound. The only time it will present a problem is if the cops pull you over for noise, you can assess the likely hood of this by the number of loud bikes in your area.
Down here the only way you get hauled in for noise is if you upset your neighbours and they report you.
Thank you just miss the old triumph sound and didn't want to buy them if it was to conspicuous and they do look absolutely great so off to the shop. I did hear some on YouTube and they didnt sound to loud i will keep the ones that come off just in case do you think I really need to remap
I definitely recommend the remap. Should be very cheap, just incorporate into your next scheduled service. You will have ridden a few miles before then, so maybe you decide against it, but I think can not hurt and will likely help.
I have the shorter ones. These are generally called TORs, Triumph Off Roads (long TORs, short TORs).
They seem to be some of the more highly regarded aftermarket mufflers.
I had the TORs on my America for 5 years and they sound loud enough to be pleasing but not loud enough to get you pulled over. Hardly anybody likes the stock pipes cause they are REALLY quiet.
