I never had a 900 Kawa or a 750 Honda back in the day.I too lusted after a Sportster and after getting my leg mangled on my Tiger 650 by a car I bought a 650 Yamaha to tide me over until the accident dough came through and a bought a 1974 XLH Lemon! Haha.The 650 Yamaha was bulletproof with an electric start,
but as you say the Japanese bikes didn't handle very well in those days.
You can get some "then came Bronson" on You tube,or I should say could,I haven't looked in a long time.Funnily enough I was at the local Kawasaki dealers yesterday in Thailand and the 900s were there.Pretty tall I think.I walked past and to the 650 Vulcan S I'm going to buy.Best bang for the buck here at the moment.
