Yeah, I like it too, Ryan! And, so does my buddy in California who owns an absolutely perfect low-mile '74 Z1... http://www.stsclassicmotorcycles.com/collection#/1974-kawasaki/And speaking of modern Japanese bikes with a classic retro look... Take a gander at this link which is about the newer Honda CB1100(already a fine looking take on the classic UJM look, I'd say) and with this kit that'll make it look so much like the motorcycle that killed the British m/c industry and almost H-D back in the day--the CB750, that it's hard to tell it's actually one of the newer Hondas... https://thekneeslider.com/an-update-on-t...rom-whitehouse/(...I'm sure it'll handle quite a bit better than those older CB750s too...great motor back then, but were never known to be good handlers, ya know)

I saw two of them in a stealership while I was stalking a Tiger 1200 XRT, and they look ever bit as good as any photos. They are quite tall, which I expected. Dwight, they had the Honda right next to it. To be clear, I would still take a T120 over either of the Japanese bikes, but I still respect them.

A friend bought one and brought it over to show me, nice looking bike but a bit small for a big guy. About the size of the new Speedmaster, nice but not for a 210Lb. guy.

I like the Honda kit and what they've done but it's not my thing. I never did own one of these old "superbikes", as I was just getting into my first bikes, classic Triumphs. Still, I totally get the appeal.

I've ridden the new CB1100. Very smooth, almost to the boring side. It seemed I didn't need to control the bike, like it knew what I wanted. It's very pretty, quite. No bells and whistles like cruise control, ride modes etc. A bit under powered and a bit overpriced. But I may own one some day. Unlike the T120 which is loaded with those frills, if that's your thang.

Yep Rich, I understand. I think you're a few years younger than I am, and so I probably got into motorcycling a few years before you did back then.
And so, back in the year 1969 and when I was 17 and after having a couple years of riding motorcycles under my belt, there were two bikes I lusted after big time...the newly introduced Honda CB750, and the Harley Sportster.
(...the latter probably a result of watching all those episodes of Then Came Bronson when it was first telecast)

I never had a 900 Kawa or a 750 Honda back in the day.I too lusted after a Sportster and after getting my leg mangled on my Tiger 650 by a car I bought a 650 Yamaha to tide me over until the accident dough came through and a bought a 1974 XLH Lemon! Haha. The 650 Yamaha was bulletproof with an electric start, but as you say the Japanese bikes didn't handle very well in those days. You can get some "then came Bronson" on You tube,or I should say could,I haven't looked in a long time.Funnily enough I was at the local Kawasaki dealers yesterday in Thailand and the 900s were there.Pretty tall I think.I walked past and to the 650 Vulcan S I'm going to buy.Best bang for the buck here at the moment.

When I was stationed in Texas a buddy of mine had a KZ1000.. crazy fast bike. Love the old school look..
Looks a lot like an older T-Bird Sport or Legend.
