Thanks again...still negotiating but the odds are not in my favour.
We're going with another couple and they are keen to cut the mileage and use the ferry...but it's a long time till we go ( September next year) so plenty of time to negotiate.
In some ways I understand....I'm 65 and they are all the same age range roughly..I ride a lot, the rest less so.
I do like to plan in advance....which is why my questions now...that and taking advantage of booking as early as possible.
