Curious what you guys have found out about the 24,000 mile service and valve adjustments. It is embarrassing how little I know about this bike. I know it is a little more expensive than other service cycles.
Generally do all valves need adjustment? Assuming the bike seems to be running well, does it make much difference in rideability?
Yes, it is a 2009 and I only have 24,000 miles.

Considering the damage that out of adjustment valves can do, it's worth it to survey insitu and re-shim if necessary, so as to bring the cam/valve gaps back into spec..

If you have 24K miles on the ride, you need to check your valve clearance. I did mine at half that time and found 7 of the 8 valves to be out of spec. The clearance was too great. Didn't make any difference on the performance of the bike though. Once I adjusted the valve clearance, the valve train was a lot quieter. Too much clearance isn't as serious as not enough. This can lead to the valves not closing on their seats causing poor heat transfer eventually damaging them.

Pretty certain my valves were checked at 12,000 miles and they said no adjustment needed. I was told that the valves on these bikes typically do not move out of specification, but checking them at a 12,000 interval regular maintenance. I am curious what they will find and will report back once the work is done.

I think they will need to have the tank off to do the valves, so probably a good time to replace the OE coils w/ Nology's.
