 ever wonder about Anonymous users

I admit I often visit this site without logging in. Just browsing to see anything new. Site woks the same logged in or not mostly when just reading posts.
Some time ago I was logged in and out of curiosity looked to see who else was online. Was surprised at the number of Anonymous users active on the site at the time. I then noticed a surprising number of those were actually viewing user profiles. I decided to remove some of my information I had listed in my profile.
I decided to check who was online again a couple of days ago and found the same type of situation. Looked when I logged in tonight and see that at least 10 of the ~ 100 Anonymous users are again looking at the users profiles.
Just curious about what information they may be looking for or taking and using?

Russian BOTS 
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Don’t know if they’re specifically Russian but the vast majority of them are botts all the same.
For that reason, never post your bank details with access passwords and PIN etc on the site.
Just send them all directly to me in a PM ...

If anyone ever wondered why fax machines are still used that's it. Unlike the internet, faxes are transmitted directly between fax machines, not through servers. Much harder to hack.

I wonder if the admin can require log in to see user profiles.
They may be Russian|Chinese|North Korean bots, but likely search crawlers as well.

My thought also.
Maybe requiring logging in to look at profiles and search the site just to limit some of the data mining going on.
Wondered if this is the type of activity helping some people/companies create the fake twitter users. Like the ones sold to celebrities and politicians to bolster their following counts, or something more nefarious maybe?

More like targeted advertising probably, maybe some looking for ID theft info but probably mostly advertisers.

Search engine spiders updating what is new. My guess. When you publish the page then the page gets republished in links over the years the spiders come and look at the new stuff.
Search something like Jetting Calculator 790 bonneville america. I bet this page comes up.
If you search your user name here Bonneville America may come up on the first page because dog has posted on the site. The google spiders captured that.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.
