I got a drone for Christmas, it flew away, I got another and somebody found the first one. That made two. I tinker with and fly these things a lot. I don't know why, it is amazing fun, and again, I don't have a clue why. I fly and take pictures of stuff then video of stuff. Not interesting stuff, just stuff from high up. I dunno. 2nd childhood I figure.  This one that I think I need is about a grand. But I think I need it. My wife said "no" she clearly doesn't understand.

I've been looking at these for a while now myself. My wife bought me one for xmas two years ago, an "elcheapo", about $50. It lasted just long enough for me to learn the controls before it disintigrated. I know you have to spend at least a few hundred dollars to get a decent one, and a REALLY good one is nearly two grand. I LIKE them, just can't make myself spend that kind of money on this kind of toy. But I TOTALLY get why someone would! They are COOL!

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I have a GPS one that was really cheap that I like now.
Return home, auto hover, 720 camera, auto land. It is really worth the money. 1600 foot range they say and it does wifi back to your phone mounted on the controller.
Promark at Walmart.com
The other one as I am typing this flew away again. I am not even going to look for it. If they are not GPS where they remember the exact take off point, I would not waste my money. Too easy to lose and or crash.

I have the same feelings. If I fly in sub-division I stay on the street in the daylight. If I fly further its at about 100 feet up over the ponds or golf course.
I have heard of people snooping in back yards etc. Don't know if its true but probably is.

They don't work on a 12 gauge and the .22LR goes way too far for me to be comfortable tossing them around the neighborhood. I understand there is a net that can be fired from a shotgun but I've never seen one used. On the other hand, anyone who goes out of their way to see me naked deserves the experience

I think its amazing that a 12" wide piece of plastic that weighs about a pound can take video like this. Overflying a park
