I'm self employed and all I got was nothing ! It's cold and quiet so I'm gonna snuggle with my dog tonight.

EVERY night here is dog snuggling night! Since my wife is gone, they've gotten more attentive than usual. My routine is; after I get done with supper and chores, I head upstairs to sit on my side of a couch recliner, laying an afgan over me. Within minutes, the girl bulldog moves to my left side, the wiener jumps up on the right arm side, the boxer straddles my legs and the cat usually appears last, taking the only place available, my chest. I watch tv, feeling like a "pet sandwich" until I drift off to sleep.

Pets (my experience is mostly with dogs) are very sensitive to their people's needs. If I've had a bad day they know and are there to do their best to give their love and support. When my wife's dad died our dogs sensed her grief became her dogs for months. Sounds like you have some good critters there.

—Will Rogers

“Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in.”
—Mark Twain

"While I may have furious arguments with people I usually judge them more by how they treat their dog than by their stupid opinions." - Larry Disney

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
