And ya know Paul, the more I look at that concept rendering, the more it SPECIFICALLY looks like some kind'a 21st-century version of those great old late-'60s 250cc Yamaha DT-1's with the white gas tanks.

(...and so good catch here, Paul)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Dwight has it! DT1 with a Norton badge.

$16,000 US. Don't plan on seeing very many of these things.

This 650 is $7,000.

There are 4 Norton dealers in the US. Even if you want one, that makes it a little complicated.

That's what almost killed Husqvarna off.I said to my friend in Sweden Husqvarna made the best MX bikes
and he said yes but the Japanese make many nearly as good for half the price.

I think that is a cool looking bike. 17 grand for a two year old bike though. If you look at the page they have 2016 and 2017 bikes for sale. I think the 18s are out.

Where it is a cool bike it also appears they are not easy to sell. Thinking if nobody wanted it for over a year, it may be even harder to sell used. I believe they are way overpriced.

5 grand less for 20 more horsepower and dealers are available.

Because in either case we would be buying a badge.

Then there is this.

An aussie magazine I was reading recently had this to say about the thruxton R and I quote.."I've heard this called the best motorcycle ever to come out of England, and from where I'm standing, I find it hard to argue with that sentiment.".. unquote..Norton might need to take a hard look at the thrux.

Yep, 13-15,000 US for 100 HP cafe racer. Triumph on the tank IMHO is every bit as iconic as Norton.

$15,000 for the Thruxton R version is pretty steep. The reason why the the Norton’s are so high is that they are hand made like the old Indians. But you are right 100 hp vs 80 for the Norton wound give the Triumph the advantage.

You want to buy on price, buy a Rice Rocket. European and American brands have a mystique, and you pay for it. The good news is we also get a good resale on premium brands.
