My buddy called today. He was in the neighborhood today on his new Goldwing and wanted to meet up. I took him on one of the well known back roads not far from me, lots of twisties with some straightaways to to let the bike run. We pulled in to a tavern to have a cold drink before he headed back home and the first thing he said was "Holy carp, that thing has some get up and go. Coming out of the turns you were running away from me."

I was kinda impressed, seeing as the Wing is a 1800cc and he is an experienced rider. I love the acceleration on this thing.

Agree. My bike has no problem keeping up with all my HD riding buddies and some of their bikes have had a lot of performance upgrades.
I also have the benefit of a bike that looks SOOOOO much cooler than theirs.

I have had similar comments from HD riders. I think they are under the impression that the America and speedmaster are really triumph's version of the 883 sportster, only with a slightly small engine.

05 speedmaster - 1100cc, 11:1 racing pistons, Carillo rods, thunderbike cams, ported and polished head, 2mm over intake and exhaust valves, Barnett kevlar clutch, scepter pipes, oversize manifolds, 45mm HSR's, TTP stage 4 firestarter
