I'm really wondering how many of you have actually ridden a harley, they ain't asport bike so they don't handle like one' duh. It sounds like abunch of tire kickers looking at price tags and listening to other peoples crap without ever even owning one so that they know what they are talking about

Been riding mostly HD since I was 18, probably something on the order of 1.5 million miles or more. Before that, I spent 2 years each on a Velocette and a Triumph.
In HD's favour, they are infinately rebuildable to the point that you can replace individual crank pins. And, at least after you replace the Sino-Japanese electrics, they will run a long time.
They don't handle nearly as well as the Triumph Cruisers. On the other hand, you can modify the frames and suspension a lot without hurting such handling as they have. Even Mikey can ride those things they churn out at OCC!
HD's can be made to go really fast. The trick is to start off by installing a cash injection system.
HD has a lot of class, obviously enough to impress japan.inc with a severe case of V2 envy. But, they don't have as much as Triiumph. Like I've said before, there is nothing wrong with Harley, but there is something right with Triumph.
