I know not a lot of people like the style I'm going for. All flame aside, how do I go about swapping a 21 or 23" front wheel?

07 TBA with cast wheels.

A Spoked America hub and a 36H rim and spokes to match. A rear spoked hub for a match if that matters to you.. Also, you will have to ditch your front fender or fab up an extended mount for the fender. It's entirably doable, all it takes is desire and money.

Thanks for the reply. So I couldn't just buy a 21" wheel and try to bolt it up? There's tons on Craigslist which has me wondering.

I would find someone tired of cleaning spokes and work a swap. The important criteria is the dimension from hub center to the rotor, axle size, available thickness and diameter and rotor config. The easiest solution is go with an America Spoked Hub, it's a straight, plug and play crossover, everything is where it needs to be, specially that really important functional front brake fork mount and correct rotor placement. EBay has new 21 x 1.65 silver rims that calls for a 36 spoke config for $150 and incidentals. Be safe.

Danny Hill put a 21" on his and it looks good, he also changed the rake on his forks. I doubt he'll see this, he rarely gets on here anymore

That's been my route, with a 140/80-17 front to match up with the 200mm wide rears with a 5.5x16" rear rim. Any rim bigger than 18" on a TBird Hub and the drilled spoke mount holes on the hub, you get an angular spoke deflection that looks somewhat wonky and impossible to hide. America hubs make for a better looking taller rim changeout.

17inch spoked rearwheel from the tiger 900 (T400) is a direkt swap. But you will only get a 150mm wide rearwheel if you do not want to change the ratio. costs you via fleabay around 60 to 120 quid. you need to mount it the other way round as the Tigers used to have the chain on the other side. thats usually something most shops forget about when they mount the rubbers...

For the front wheel do as said, buy a spoked america and get a new rim and spokes. will be starting around 300 quid...

If you go with a bias ply tire like the Michelin Commander 2 you can mount a 160/70/17 on the rear spoked Tiger rim. It’not noticeably skinnier than the 170/80/15 and the diameter of the two are nearly identical so you don’t have to worry about sprocket ratios being off.

2006 865 Neon Blue/Jet Black Speedmaster,790cams, TTP Stage 2 Firestarter, Epco Exhaust with 10.25" Samson Vrod baffles, UNI pods with 40 pilots, 150 mains,Thruxton needles, 3 turns out.
