About 5.30pm today wife and i pulled into a parking spot at the local hardware store. As i stopped there was a bang and she said "what did you hit". I hadn't hit anything and looked over my shoulder to see a bike laying in the middle of the road.

A head on with a mustang and a guy on a 1200 Sportster, he was crawling to the side of the road and was sat up when my wife and other people got to him. She called 911 and people began to help him. The car driver approx 25 yrs old male hispanic pulled his car into the parking lot and got out to see if the rider was ok. Engine still running and leaking radiator fluid. Drivers side headlight and fender damaged, forks on bike bent backs far as they could go and front tire pushed off rim.

Driver came back to the car as i was taking a picture of license plate he reached into the car to pull the hood release, lifted the hood and checked on something then said he was going to park it. I went and took a picture of the rear plate both matched. He pulls into a parking spot for a few seconds then reverses out and screams out of the parking lot he then ran up the curb to get around the stopped cars and disappeared. Luckily i had photo's of the car AND him. Gave all the info to CHP and pictures too, the riders father came to the scene and we gave him all our info and pictures.

The rider was taken to hospital with a suspected broken right wrist and possibly badly sprained ankles. He said he went over the bars and landed on his feet really hard, he is mid 30's and should be ok.

Local sheriff said the driver of the car looked similar to another suspect he had been involved with and drove past the guys house which was down the road a few blocks on his way to the accident scene. He had the license plate info my wife gave 911 as she called it in.

Not "banging my own drum" but certainly glad that my wife and i helped as much as we could.

Its not a good feeling when all this happens and kind of felt like "De Ja Vu" when i had my accident just over five years ago.

We got home about an hour later after giving all the info we could and crashed out for an hour or so while we came back to our senses and relaxed.

The cops will get the SOB driving the car and we hope he gets the book thrown at him for Hit and Run. I'm not one for all the techie stuff but sure glad i got photo's of the driver and his car.
