I'm currently using something similar ( Oxford Throttle Assist)on a 1500 mile tour, two up on my TBA LT.
So far I'm 750 miles in and it works well...a little fiddly in traffic till you get used to it.
Incidentally, I can now confirm first hand that touring is perfectly feasible on these bikes...we came up the motorways from the south of England into Galloway, Scotland at anything from about 80-90+ mph..clocked up over 400 miles on the first day...the bike didn't bat an eyelid.
