My age, I guess, is catching up with me. Riding my 2005 into work today, 19 miles out, my right wrist and hand is completely numb. Letting off for just a couple of seconds revives the feelings, but decided every today that I won't be able to ride anymore until I find some kind of throttle lock... My BMW has a friction knob that allows the throttle to hold. Any ideas where I could get a throttle lock of some type?

Fasr Eddy is your man.

There's even a nifty little video.

I rode his Thunderbird for two weeks with one of these on, works a treat.
Not a cruise control per se cause it doesn't account for up & down roads but eases the throttle grip a lot.
I bought one back with me.

I use one of these throttle rocker, I like the one with the velcro strap to clamp it on but they are available as cheap as $5 and as expensive as $25. You rest your palm on it to keep the throttle open instead of gripping the grip. throttle rocker

I've tried these but not as good as the thing Eddy sells IMO. I felt it was in the way because you basically have to use it all the time.
The thing Eddy sells is slim and although it's there all the time, you only use it when you want to.

Same for me with what I posted, I rarely use it but it's there when I want it.

Like Funkletrumpet said. Those go cruise devices are incredible.

I put the Avon gel grips on the America and they really helped. They would not work with the Go Cruise. I would do the Go Cruise first.

I'm currently using something similar ( Oxford Throttle Assist)on a 1500 mile tour, two up on my TBA LT.
So far I'm 750 miles in and it works well...a little fiddly in traffic till you get used to it.
Incidentally, I can now confirm first hand that touring is perfectly feasible on these bikes...we came up the motorways from the south of England into Galloway, Scotland at anything from about 80-90+ mph..clocked up over 400 miles on the first day...the bike didn't bat an eyelid.

I took the Road Less Travelled. Now where the ****** am I?

This is well known on here.
These bikes have been used for touring since they came out. Solo and two-up.
Nobby did many thousands of miles across America on one, maybe 12-15 years ago. Bought it out there. Had it nicked. Bought another. Sold it. Bought one back here.
Just 2-3 years ago the Euro rally was in Romania. 3000 mile round trip. Previous Euro rallies : Poland, Italy, Austria, Greece, Sweden etc.
The first ba.com American rally I went to (2007 maybe) in New York state, the guys from the southern states came up. Florida and back, maybe 2,500-3,000 miles and they were doing that year in year out.

Throttle relief to me is rolling on the throttle. for whatever reason. even for riding to mum's house this morning so I can take her (in her car) to hospital for a planned synchronized electrical cardioversion. as much a mental relief as a physical relief this 'throttle' turns out to be.

I had something similar to the Vista Cruise on the SM that I had years ago. I LOVED IT!!! This might be exactly what I had, but I do not know, as it was on the bike when I bought it. I plan to get one for my BA. It is simple, turn the throttle, flip down the trigger, and it's cruisin'.
