First Off... Welcome!! And congratulations on deciding on the two best cruiser EVER built.
As for your question... Yes, it is worth it, you also get the tach and alloy wheels. However (and this is a HUGE however) the biggest thing to think about between the two is comfort. For me the bars on the Speedmaster feel more comfortable and natural than the bars on the America. Some people that have an America will tell you the other way around. So, most importantly consider how comfortable and natural each one feels for you. If they both feel right, get the Speedmaster
