For the Alley Cats mounting system, the "clamps" (qty 4) remain attached to the forks...the mounting brackets(qty 2) stay attached to the windshield when removed.
So, to remove the windshield, you use an allen wrench on each of the clamps to loosen them. Then remove the windshield w/mounts and retighten the allen screws.
