Always a fan. 'Fillmore' was one of my first LP's when I scored my first real stereo back in '74. A 'brush with celebrity' anecdote is in order. Was drinking, etc., my way through FL with a couple of buds during Spring Break of 1979. Sitting at the Metz II Lounge in Daytona Beach Shores. Slow night and the bartender comes over and says 'see that guy on the pay phone (it was 1979, after all), that's Greg Allman, the rock star'. Yeah, sure we thought. Just a scraggly looking blonde dude in a fatigue jacket. Couple weeks later I read in Rolling Stone that Allman was pretty much down in the dumps, hanging at a house in Daytona without a telephone. Reckon the bartender coulda been right...the late '70's were not a good time for Allman. Anyway, I still enjoy listening to Allman Brothers vinyl from the late '60's and early '70's. Mighty fine stuff that. Thanks Greg, RIP.
